Bought this for a seminar I am taking I am not an artist or art historian and yet this book was fascinating! Covers the painting, the history behind it (both art history and world history), essays about the painting, and interesting to see the use of the painting for political statements as history moves forward as well as how the art critics view it at different periods Also loved the section on poetry about it and interviews with/personal accounts of Picasso and his statements about it. I learned so much, not just about the painting itself, but about Picasso, about art, about broader history, about Spain. REally an easy read and very imformative!
